Tips & Tricks

  1. Set a goal & promote it – Set your fundraising goal and share your progress with your network throughout your fundraising journey. What better way to motivate people to support you than letting them know how close you are to achieving your goal.
  2. Make a self-donation – Donating towards your own fundraising goal is an easy and visible way to rally friends and family to join you in supporting your Walk & Roll! You can even ask your supporters to match your donation amount.
  3. Look far and wide for support – Reach out to your entire community, and invite them to support your Walk & Roll! Close family and friends are a given but asking the rest of your network for a charitable gift, like your work colleagues, dentist, hairdresser, and other parents at your child’s school, gives everyone the opportunity to make a difference for the neuromuscular community.
  4. Build a community – Share your personal Walk & Roll page across your social media platforms and invite your followers, connections and friends to support your effort. Don’t forget to keep up your social engagement by posting inspiring messages, photos, and videos to draw interest to your fundraiser and update your community regularly.
  5. Adjust your goal as needed – It’s important to set an achievable fundraising goal to create momentum. If circumstances change or progress is slower than you expected, consider adjusting your fundraising goal. And be sure to let your supporters know about your updated goal and encourage them to take action to help you achieve it.
  6. Give thanks – Be sure to thank your donors for supporting you and let them know how their donation has made a difference for the neuromuscular community. For more info on the impact that donor support makes, check out these stories and testimonials.
